New Delhi: After taking down ‘Mitron’ app, Google has removed the viral ‘Remove China Apps’ app from the Play Store.
Google has not given any reason on why it removed the app.
The app had received over a million downloads, courtesy anti-China sentiments brewing in the country.
According to CNBCTV18, Google “red-flagged [Mitron] app and decided to suspend it for violating its ‘spam and minimum functionality’ policy”. Also ‘copying content from other apps without adding any original content or value’ is against Google Play Store policies.
The app let people pick out made-in-China apps and uninstall accordingly. It may still work on phones it has already been downloaded.
