Renault has updated its hot-selling Kwid with a host of new features. The beefed-up hatchback has been quite popular in the country with over 2.5 lakh units sold since its launch.
The 2018 Kwid now gets a rear view camera, an armrest for rear seats, and a redesigned front grill. The top variant gets a 12-volt socket at the rear. The gear knob has a new chrome finish. Power windows and central locking are now standard on the lower RXL variant.
Safety gets a much-awaited update with Renault equipping the rear seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters. The French carmaker has also added ELR (Emergency Locking Retractor) across all the variants that lets the rear seat belt to freely extend and retract with occupant movement, but also locks upon an impact or jerk.
The Kwid retains the same engines and gearbox. There is a choice of two engines – an 800 cc, 53 bhp or a 1000 cc 67 bhp one. It has an automatic AMT gearbox variant only on the 1000 cc variant.
There has been no increase in the prices. The ex-showroom price starts at Rs 2.67 Lakh and goes upto Rs 4.59 Lakh for the top-end Climber AMT.
