Bhubaneswar: Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University in Odisha capital Prof Sabita Acharya on Tuesday inaugurated two renovated hostels for the students in the campus.
Funded by the state government, the renovation works of Gopabandhu and Madhusudan hostels were carried out by the Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation.
The gents’ hostels, which were built around 60 years back, were in a dilapidated condition and the repair work was long overdue. Besides repair of damaged portions, renovation work of the hostels was also carried for comfortable stay of the students.
Among others, Registrar of the university Dr Avaya Kumar Nayak, PG Council Chairman Dr Durga Shankar Pattanaik, Hostel Warden Prof Prabodha Kumar Hota and Development Officer Dr Manoranjan Senapaty were present.
