Bhubaneswar: The possibility of reopening of higher secondary schools in Odisha seems to have brightened after the state government on Friday asked the principals to sanitise and clean the campuses.
The government order came hours after it allowed reopening of laboratories in universities and colleges across the State.
An official order issued by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education read, “Resumption of physical mode of learning in all higher secondary schools across the state is hampered due to COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020. The school campus needs sanitation and cleaning. Further, accessories & amenities like drinking water, toilets, classrooms, laboratory and equipment need to be brought to the pre-COVID situation.”
The department has directed the principals to comply with the order and send a status report within a week.
