Hyderabad: ‘Mr Bachchan’, starring senior Telugu actor Ravi Teja, has come under Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) scanner.
The censor board has asked the producers – TG Vishwa Prasad, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Abhishek Pathak — to effect some modifications.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the film’s makers have been directed to replace the poster of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha with that of Big B and his wife Jaya Bachchan.
‘Mr Bachchan’, which will be released in theatres on August 15, was reportedly issued a U/A certificate with a runtime of over 2 hours and 30 minutes by CBFC following a number of modifications.
The makers were also asked to add a disclaimer stating that the film is fictional and has no resemblance to any person or place.
Among other changes, cuss words and a scene with blood dripping were asked to be removed, muted or blurred, and a two-minute scene where a child is seen smoking was asked to be changed.
The film’s makers have not yet issued a statement on the changes.
Teja apart, the Harish Shankar-directed ‘Mr Bachchan’ stars Bhagyashri Borse and Jagapathi Babu in lead roles.
