Baby girl rescued from Koraput forest brought to SCB for treatment
Cuttack: The baby girl rescued from forests of Borigumma in Koraput district was brought to SCB Medical College and Hospital here for further treatment.
The infant, who was found alone crying near the body of her mother, was undergoing treatment at Korput district headquarters hospital. She was referred to SCB after her condition deteriorated.
A special team of four doctors led by the Paediatrics HOD are reportedly treating the baby girl. She was brought to the hospital by a special ambulance.
Meanwhile, Women and Child Development Minister Prafulla Samal had assured that the state government would bear all the expenses of the child’s treatment and take care of her till she turns 18.
On Wednesday, he had ordered a probe into the incident and requested the Home Department to conduct a separate inquiry.
Some people of Kumbhariput village had spotted the baby girl a few meters away from the woman’s body and informed police, the previous day.
Koraput police suspect that the woman was murdered and have formed three teams to nab the accused.
