Bhubaneswar: Social science researchers stressed on empowerment of women in revitilising the world.
They were speaking at an international seminar on “Empowerment of Women in Revitalizing World: Past & Present” organised by the Asiatic Society for Social Science Research, New Delhi in collaboration with the School
of Women’s Studies and Department of History, Utkal University (UU), Bhubaneswar from February 23 to 25.
was held at the Auditorium of Utkal University and was attended by various international and national research scholars across the globe.
Ashu J, President, ASSSR; Pramod Kumar Ray, vice-president, ASSSR; Prof Bhagbanprakash, former senior advisor to Election Commission of India; Abhaya Kumar Nayak, registrar, Utkal University and Aditya Vashishtha were the guests at the inaugural function of the seminar.
Prof Jayanti Dora, Director of Women’s Studies and HoD of History Department, Utkal University; Charu Arya, convener, ASSSR and Leivon Alur Kom, co-convener, ASSSR also attended.
It was followed by paper presentations in three different technical parallel sessions on separate themes on women empowerment which were chaired by senior faculties from University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University and Utkal University.
The three-day seminar winded up with valedictory session in the presence of vice-chancellor of Utkal University Prof Sabita Acharya; ASSSR president Ashu J and vice-president Pramod Kumar Ray.
