Boudh: A reserve police constable has been arrested for allegedly smuggling 10.70 kg of ganja in Odisha’s Boudh district.
The accused, identified as Nidhi Sahu, was serving with the Reserve Police Force at Balsingha.
According to sources, police set up a checking point at Barkuda Square under Baghiapada police limits. Sahu was intercepted while travelling on a motorcycle from Chhatrapur towards Boudh, carrying ganja in a sack. He was caught red-handed and a case was immediately registered at Baghiapada police station.
Boudh SP Rahul Goel confirmed the arrest and stated that the constable has been produced before a local court. “We are working towards a drug-free Odisha. Anyone involved in these illegal activities will not be spared, even if he is a police officer,” he said, emphasising the district administration’s zero-tolerance policy.
