Boudh: A Sanskrit teacher of Dhalapur school in Odisha’s Boudh district died of COVID-19 on Saturday, two days after returning from Kumbh Mela in Haridwar.
According to reports, he had got a COVID test done and was awaiting the report when he died.
Some locals, who were aware of his Haridwar visit, reportedly denied to carry the body for cremation suspecting COVID.
Boudh CDMO Trilochan Pradhan said his sample was taken on April 22 for testing the report has not arrived. However, the cremation will be carried out as COVID protocol, he said.
Till the reports last came in, BDO and Tehsildar reached his house nearly 12 hours after the death. His kin cremated the body as per government COVID protocol.
