Revenue Inspector Caught Taking Bribe By Odisha Vigilance In Bhadrak
Bhubaneswar: A Revenue Inspector (RI) was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance sleuths for allegedly accepting Rs 5,000 bribe from a man to submit field enquiry report in a mutation case in Bhadrak district on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Bhagabata Khatua, is posted as RI in Gadi Revenue Circle under Tihidi Tehsil of Bhadrak district. He was apprehended by Vigilance officials while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.5000/- from a complainant to submit field enquiry report in his favour for conversion of his agricultural land to homestead land in a mutation case, an official release said.
The entire tainted bribe money of Rs 5,000/- has been recovered from the possession of Khatua and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous house searches are being conducted at two locations of the accused RI from Disproportionate Assets angle.
In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
