Nuapada: Vigilance sleuths on Saturday evening arrested a Revenue Inspector (RI) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a farmer.
The accused has been identified as Dinamani Routray, serving as RI at Tukula under Khariyar block in Nuapada district.
According to vigilance officers, Routray had demanded Rs 20,000 from a farmer named Jugal Kishore Thela.
Acting on a complaint lodged by Thela, the sleuths laid a trap and caught Routray red-handed while he was accepting the cash from the complainant at RI office.
The bribe amount was recovered on the spot and was seized. A case has been registered against Routray in this connection.
