Mumbai: Actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is out on bail in a drug case related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, has filed a complaint with the CBI against her neighbour, who claimed that the late actor had dropped her home on June 13.
According to a report in NDTV, Rhea has alleged that the neighbour’s allegations against her are “patently false and bogus and intended to mislead the investigation” in the Sushant’s case.
“… said conduct makes a prima facie case punishable… with imprisonment for a minimum of seven years,” the actress wrote in her letter.
Rhea has also complained against media channels that “carried false and bogus stories without any material to substantiate and to achieve their own ends”.
On Sunday, there were reports that Rhea’s neighbour failed to substantiate her claim that an eyewitness saw Sushant dropping Rhea home on June 13.
Sources also revealed that the CBI team warned the neighbour against making such false statements.
Rhea was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on September 8 in the drug nexus case in connection with Sushant’s death.
After being in judicial custody at the Byculla jail for almost a month, she was granted conditional bail by the Bombay High Court on October 7.
