Directed by Ashima Chibber, ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ featured Saqib Saleem, Rhea, Ram Kapoor and Prabal Panjabi in prominent roles. The movie was criticized for being a commercial of Maruti cars. Box-office collections for the film was just Rs 12.46 crore and it was declared a flop.
‘Sonali Cable’, starring Rhea in the lead role, is a women-centric movie which revolves around a girl named Sonali who provides Internet services in Mumbai. The film received mixed reviews from fans and critics, but failed to leave the cash registers ringing at the box-office.
Post the failure of ‘Sonali Cable’, Rhea wasn’t getting too many offers. In 2017, she made a cameo appearance in ‘Half Girlfriend’. Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles, ‘Half Girlfriend’ also flopped at the box-office.
Starring Saqib Saleem and Huma Qureshi in lead roles, ‘Dobaara: See Your Evil’ was the official remake of Hollywood movie ‘Oculus’. Rhea had a limited role. The movie turned out to be a dud at the box-office.
‘Bank Chor’ featured Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Rhea in the main roles. The movie revolves around Champak, who decides to rob a bank with the help of his two inexperienced friends. Though the movie was appreciated for its comedy content, it failed at the box-office.
Rhea was last seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Jalebi’. Rhea played the role of Aisha who falls in love with a local guide named Dev. After marriage, Aisha becomes hesitant about getting pregnant, leading to a fallout between the couple. The movie landed in a soup because of its controversial poster and became the biggest flop at the box-office with a paltry collection of Rs 2.41 crore.
