Rhea FIR Against Sushant Sisters: HC Relief For Meetu, Case Holds Against Priyanka

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court quashed an FIR against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Meetu Singh on Monday, but held the case against the late actor’s other sister Priyanka Singh and a Delhi-based doctor who was named for allegedly colluding with them.

Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty had filed the FIR at Bandra Police Station and moved the plea last September, alleging that the sisters had put Sushant on medication without consultation.

Rhea had accused Priyanka, Meetu and Dr Tarun Kumar of prescribing medicines to Sushant that were prohibited under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

Sushant’s sisters then moved the High Court, saying that the FIR was filed based on media reports and also alleging material irregularities and discrepancies, and requested the court to dismiss the FIR.

They also mentioned a delay of 90 days, with the medicines being prescribed on June 8 while the complaint was lodged only on September 7.

Sushant was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14 last year.

Mumbai Police said it was a case of suicide, but subsequently CBI, ED and NCB took up the case after Sushant’s father alleged that Rhea was involved in the death.
