Naveen Patnaik pays tribute to Biju Patnaik on his death anniversary at state secretariat
Bhubaneswar: The 21st death anniversary of former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik was observed in the state capital here on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid floral tributes to the statue of his father at Forest Park and on the premises of Odisha Assembly here.
Meanwhile, members of the BJD observed ‘Tilatarpana’, ritual in memory of the legendary leader at Bindu Sagar here.
Recalling the great works Biju Babu did for Odisha, the tourism minister Ashok Chandra Panda advised the party members to follow the footprints of the great leader and continue working towards the growth of the state in all spheres.
MP Prasanna Patsani, MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, deputy Mayor K Shanti, local corporator, senior party leaders and people from all walks of life took part in the ritual.
To mark the day, a state level function is also being organised at Jaydev Bhawan here. The function will be graced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other dignitaries. A photo exhibition showcasing the lifestyle of Biju Babu will be inaugurated on the occasion.
