Bhubaneswar: Ollywood hearthrob Anu Choudhury believes she can be instrumental in bringing change for the benefit of Odia cine industry when she comes to power.
“I have no background in politics, but will learn slowly. I think this is the right time for me to give something back to the society,” said Anu, who joined the BJP last week. On why she chose the BJP, she said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and relentless effort to make India at par with developed countries have impressed her.
Anu, who has also worked in some Bengali, South Indian and Hindi movies, told odishabytes.com: “When the Odia cine industry is struggling to get back its golden days, increasing the number of theatres and providing quality infrastructure will encourage filmmakers to make good cinema.”
Anu, who received Chalachitra Jagata award for her debut movie ‘Maa Goja Bayani’ in 1998, said she would continue acting. “An artiste can never leave her work,” she remarked.
She has a few films in her hand and will continue to work further too. Following her latest movies ‘Sweet Heart’, ‘He Prabhu Dekha De’ and ‘God Father’, is her music video ‘Mukta Chandra’, which is based on a royal love story. It will be released by February-end.
