Bhubaneswar: Chief minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Friday called upon the newly elected panchayat members to rise above party differences and work for the service of the people.
During an interaction with panchayat representatives of Hinjili and Seragad blocks of Ganjam district through video-conferencing, the chief minister said the people have reposed trust in them by voting them to power. “I hope you will not belie their trust and work for their benefits,” he said.
“Now that the panchayat election is over, it is time to work hard to justify their confidence. If we serve the people sincerely, we can get their blessings and strengthen their trust,” Naveen said.
Stating that the electorate has given historic mandate to BJD, he said it also brings great responsibility. “I hope you will carry forward the job of development in your areas that has been the focus of the government,” he added.
Naveen also advised them to remain united and devote time and energy towards the progress of the two blocks.
