Bhubaneswar: After witnessing a gradual decline in daily COVID-19 cases from around 1900 on October 20 to 1200 plus on October 27, Odisha saw 1540 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
With this, the affected tally in the state touched 2,85,482 on Wednesday.
Among the fresh infections reported from all 30 districts, 886 are quarantine and 654 local contacts.
Khurda reported the highest 208 cases followed by Sundargarh (111), Angul (100), Cuttack (99), Balasore (92), Mayurbhanj (91), Jagatsinghpur (78), Balangir (67), Kendrapada (62), Nuapada (51), Puri (49), Kalahandi (47), Nabarangpur (43), Jharsuguda (42), Malkangiri (42), Bargarh (41), Keonjhar (38), Nayagarh (33), Sambalpur (32), Ganjam (29), Sonepur (29), Koraput (26), Dhenkanal (24), Jajpur (22), Kandhamal (14), Rayagada (10), Bhadrak (9), Deogarh: (7), Gajapati (5) and Boudh (3),

While 2,68,115 people have been cured of the infection, the number of active cases stands at 16,030.
