Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital saw another surge of 330 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, which took the affected tally to 8261 on Wednesday.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), 139 of them are quarantine and 191 local contact cases.
Among the quarantine cases, eight are staffers of a private hospital, while five policemen, two traffic staff and two bank employees have also been infected. Around 10 cases have been reported from city slums.
Two with travel history to West Bengal have also tested positive for the virus.
There has been a rise in local contact cases with the highest of six each from IRC Village and BDA Colony, Chandrasekharpur.
The BMC also informed about 185 more patients getting cured of the infection.
With 35 deaths and 4911 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 3306 active cases.
