Dehradun: Cricket fans the world over are praying for Rishabh Pant, who was involved in a horrific car accident near Roorkee on Friday.
As the Team India cricketer undergoes treatment at Max Hospital here, two of his fans – Bollywood veterans Anupam Kher and Anil Kapoor – paid him a visit to check how he was doing and cheer him up.
“It is sometimes very important to go on such occasions so that you can cheer up the other person who has gone through such a big thing in life. We visited him as fans to inquire about his health, met his mother and relatives also. He is currently fine and recuperating. We tried to cheer him with our jokes and made him laugh also. I must say Rishabh’s spirits are really high. We were careful about the protocols at the hospital and wished him a speedy recovery,” Kher told mediapersons outside the hospital.
Kapoor added: “To all those who are watching this, I would just like to say that please pray for him so that he recovers and we see him back on the ground.”
In what was a near-fatal accident, Pant – who was driving his Mercedes — crashed into a divider near Roorkee around 5.30 am yesterday. The car caught fire and it was a driver of a Haryana Roadways bus and others who helped Pant get out of the car.
The 25-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, who suffered multiple injuries but was in stable condition, was taken to a district hospital from where he was shifted to Dehradun.
