Rising Corona Cases: 7-Day Lockdown Imposed In This City
Nagpur: Owing to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, Nagpur has enforced a weeklong lockdown in the city from Monday. The restriction will continue till March 21, Nagpur Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said.
“The border area has been sealed and all those who are at the border for no reason and trying to enter the city are being sent back,” the commissioner added.
However, essential services and industries will continue to function. Government offices in Nagpur will function with 25% capacity during the lockdown.
The COVID-19 situation in several parts of Maharashtra has remained grim. On Sunday (March 14), the state crossed the 16,000 mark as it recorded 16,620 new cases, India Today reported.
