Berhampur: To check reels menace, the authorities of Sashi Bhushan Rath Government Women’s College in Odisha’s Berhampur has issued a notice, banning smartphones and birthday celebration on campus.
The college had earlier warned of strict action after a video of students shooting reels while standing precariously close to the edge of the roof atop the four-storey college building went viral.
According to sources, the notice has listed out eight restrictions and warned against littering classrooms and indulging in ragging. The students are also barred for wearing expensive jewelleries and climbing the college roof.
The authorities said that this should be treated as the last warning and any violation would invite strict action. Besides informing the parents, the offenders would be hand out CLC (collage leaving certificate), it added.
Principal of the college Kanhu Charan Padhy had earlier told the media that the doors to the roof was locked but the students broke it to shoot reels.
