Row Over AC Cabin In Hospital For Arrested Odisha MLA; Check What Happened

Deogarh: BJP MLA from Odisha Subash Panigrahi was shifted to VIMSAR, Burla, on Wednesday from the district headquarters hospital (DHH) here, where he was admitted after his arrest from Bhubaneswar on May 1 in connection with the alleged murderous attack on Tileibani BDO, as his health condition deteriorated.

The hospital stay of the MLA, however, was also marred by controversy following reports that a seven-year-old girl with burn injuries was shifted out of an AC cabin at the DHH for the treatment of the arrested MLA.

While the incident drew sharp criticism with BJD district president Romancha Ranjan Biswal demanding equal treatment to all at a hospital, Deogarh ADMO Purna Chandra Pradhan said an air cooler was immediately installed in the room where the girl was shifted to.
