Royal Enfield on Monday launched the updated version of the Himalayan off terrain motorcycle. This BS6 compliant model starts at a price of Rs 1.87 lakh for the Snow White and Granite colours. The Sleet Grey and Gravel Grey models have been priced at Rs 1.89 lakh, and the Rock Red and Lake Blue at Rs 1.91 lakh
The updated Himalayan is powered by the 411cc, single-cylinder engine which now makes 24.3hp (down from 24.5hp) power. The torque produced is same, 32Nm. An additional catalytic converter on the header pipe is reportedly attached to reduce emissions.
The weight of the motorcycle has gone up by 5kg to 199kg.
The hazard warning lamp which was present in the first generation Himalayan now makes a comeback. The Himalayan also gets switchable ABS at the rear. This allows riders to slide the motorcycle while going off-road.
The instrument cluster gets white-backlight setup now. It also gets a new improved side-side that is designed to ‘make parking on any kind of terrains easier’.
