Nayagarh: Officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Bhubaneswar, seized ganja weighing 1.5 tonnes from a wood-laden truck near Banigocha in Odisha’s Nayagarh district late on Friday.
The DRI officials with help of Nayagarh police stopped the vehicle on National Highway-57 on a tip-off that 39 sacks of ganja was reportedly being smuggled in it from Koraput to Bhubaneswar.
The driver was later detained for interrogation.
The market value of the seized ganja has been estimated at around Rs 1 crore, sources said.
