Re 1 Credited To Subhadra Yojana Beneficiaries’ Bank Accounts During DBT Testing Ahead Of Launch Event
Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the September 17 launch event, several eligible beneficiaries of Subhadra Yojana, the Odisha government’s flagship scheme for the welfare of women, received Re 1 in their registered bank accounts during the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) testing on Sunday.
So far, around 60 lakh women have got themselves registered to avail benefits under the scheme, according to sources.
All women, who have already applied or get registered for Subhadra Yojana on or before September 15, will get the first instalment after the launch of the ambitious scheme by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida had earlier told the media.
One of the major election promises of the BJP, the scheme is aimed at providing financial safety net and increasing their financial and digital literacy. All eligible women, aged 21-60 years, will get Rs 10,000 in two equal instalments for five years. The state government has made an outlay of Rs 55, 825 crore for the scheme to be implemented between 2024-25 and 2028-29 financial years.
Meanwhile, around 10,000 padayatras are being conducted throughout the state to promote the scheme. Subhadra welcome week is being organised in every block and panchayat with various competitions and street plays. The successful women of each region are given the title of ‘Subhadra Apa’ and the story of successful women will be rewarded as ‘My Subhadra story’. Competitions like essay, debate, rangoli and photography among the students of various colleges have been planned on the theme ‘Ghare Ghare Subhadra’.
