Bhubaneswar: The vigilance sleuths on Sunday intercepted junior accountant of Nuapada Civil Supplies Office Tara Charan Panda and recovered unaccounted cash Rs 2.16 lakh from him.
Acting on tip-off, Vigilance intercepted Panda on NH 353 and recovered Rs 2.16 lakh from his possession. He has been detained for further interrogation as he could not give any satisfactory answer regarding possession of the cash, said an official.
Meanwhile, searches have been launched at residential quarter at Nuapada, his residential rented house at Soura Sahi in Jeypore Town under Koraput district and house at native village Ganesh Tower, Kamapali, Berhampur, stated a release by the Vigilance Directorate.
