Rs 248 Cr Budget Approved For Puri Jagannath Temple; Adarsh Gurukul Work To Begin Soon
Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple managing committee approved a budget of Rs 248.51 crore for 2022-23 at a meeting here on Monday.
Informing about the decisions taken at the meeting, Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Vir Vikram Yadav said the the extended meeting of the committee was held on the day to finalise the budget. The committee, headed by Puri Gajapati Dibyasingha Deb, approved a budget of Rs 248.51 crore for 2022-23. The revised estimate of 2021-22 was also approved, he added.
Several other important issues, including the Shree Mandir Adarsh Gurukul, were discussed at the meeting. MoU concerning the Gurukul was discussed and a memorandum of understanding will be signed with Bhumiputra Foundation, a decision to this effect was also taken at the meeting.
Land for the housing of sevayats has been identified at Harchandi Sahi and Dakshinakali Sahi mouzas. Construction of the houses will begin soon, said Yadav.
It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court has given Rs 6 crore for construction of the Gurukul. Total 17 acres land has been identified for setting up the Gurukul. Gajapati Maharaj of Puri will be the Chairman or president of this Society while members will be noted Educationists, Financial Experts, SJTA’s Chief Administrator, Puri Collector and Servitors of Jagannath Temple, Puri.
