Berhampur: Ganjam collector Vijay Amrit Kulange on Friday declared an award of Rs 5000 for first hand information about child marriage anywhere in the district.
Stating that the name and address of the informer would be kept secret, the collector said the Anganwadi workers can also give the information to get the award.
Calling upon the officials to wipe out the menace of child marriage from the district, Kulange advised them to verify the age and other details of the boys and girls who are getting married through their Aadhar cards.
On a cautionary note, he said if child marriage takes place at any place, the Anganwadi worker and the CDPO of the area would be held responsible.
