RSP Initiates Special Scheme For Local Industries Under Purvodaya Scheme
Rourkela: SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has initiated a special incentive scheme under Purvodaya scheme called ‘Ispaati Ilakonka Vikas: SAIL ke Sath’ for boosting consumption of steel by local industries.
It may be recalled that Union Minister of Oil and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan had launched the ‘Purvodaya’ programme earlier this year to create an ideal framework for achieving socio-economic development in the eastern states.
Accordingly, SAIL launched its initiative that looks to make affordable steel available to the MSMEs located in the same districts as its Integrated Steel Plants, while incentivising them in price-based and non-price based terms.
Under the price-based incentives, MSMEs will get benefits of Rs 100 per tonne under distribution charge and an additional incentive of Rs 300 per tonne on supplies from local warehouse.
A tapering rebate of Rs 250 will be given to new units for a period of 5 years. Besides, benefit of Rs 600 per tonne of plates, sheets & coils will be provided if they lift the total quantity ordered.
Under the non price-based incentives, MSMEs will get benefits of MoU and an inventory holding period of one month. The MSMEs have to get registered to avail of these benefits. RSP and Central Marketing Organisation (CMO) of SAIL will be working jointly to register more number of MSMEs under this scheme.
