Mumbai: Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, who has returned to television as the lead in Ektaa Kapoor’s ‘Naagin 7’, became a target of trolls after a monologue from the show went viral.
In the viral clip, Priyanka, in her Naagin avatar, is seen confronting and thrashing a corrupt police officer while delivering an intense monologue.
However, several viewers disapproved of her dialogue delivery and found it “cringe” and “over the top.”
Social media users compared her performance to former ‘Naagin’ stars Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan, who were widely appreciated for their portrayals in earlier seasons.
One user wrote, “Wapis aa jao Mouni Roy & Adaa Khan. The problem is they set the standard so high that it becomes difficult to match their aura, grace, and acting.”
Another commented, “Looks like primary school children doing an assembly speech.”
One netizen wrote, “God, unbearable. She is so bad. Idk who’s watching this season.”
Some said the performance had “ruined the Naagin legacy,” and others criticised her exaggerated expressions and delivery style.
Priyanka’s fans defended her.
“They need to write better. PCC is working fine, but she can do better,” commented one of them.
Another said, “All the other naagins have done multiple acting projects. For PCC, she’s still in her early learning stage. If the directors mentor her properly, she’ll deliver better.”

Priyanka first gained recognition with ‘Udaariyaan’ and later became a household name after her stint on ‘Bigg Boss 16’.
