Moscow: Russia has reiterated its commitment to keeping crude oil supplies stable in global markets, making it clear that no new initiative is currently being prepared under the OPEC+ framework.
Speaking at a media briefing, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov underlined that Moscow continues to prioritise market balance amid ongoing global energy uncertainties.
Peskov said Russia’s current supply levels are part of a broader strategy designed to curb volatility and mitigate the impact of the international energy crisis. He pointed out that, for now, there are no additional measures being put forward within the OPEC+ group, signalling a period of policy continuity rather than change.
As one of the world’s largest oil producers, Russia has played a key role in coordinating output decisions with OPEC+ partners in recent years. However, the latest signals from the Kremlin suggest a preference for stability over fresh intervention, as markets grapple with shifting demand and growing geopolitical tensions.
According to energy analysts, this approach may reflect confidence in existing arrangements, while still allowing room for future adjustments if market conditions were to shift markedly.
