Russian Engr Found Dead On Cargo Vessel In Odisha Suffered Head Injury; Check Autopsy Report
Paradip: The postmortem report of 51-year-old Russian, Milyakov Sergey, who was found dead on a cargo vessel, has indicated death due to natural causes. The autopsy was conducted at Kujang hospital in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur on Wednesday.
Sagar Behera, the doctor who performed Sergey’s postmortem, said that he had also suffered a head injury. It is suspected that he might have sustained the injury after collapsing in the cabin of the ship.
However, a preliminary investigation suggested he died due to natural causes. “We have collected viscera and other samples which will be sent to the laboratory in Bhubaneswar for tests,” Behera added.
Additional SP Nimain Charan Sethy said that a case of unnatural death has been registered in this connection. Police also interrogated 22 crew members of MV AI Danah, the vessel in which Milyakov was found dead on Monday. Some crew members revealed that the Russian was ill while boarding the vessel.
Sergey was the chief engineer of MV AI Danah which had anchored in Paradip Port.

Odisha DGP Sunil Bansal also informed that there is no connection between Milyakov’s death and the demise of two Russians in Rayagada. The engineer died even as Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was probing the mysterious deaths of two other Russians, including a multi-millionaire in the state last month.
“The coincidence should not be seen as part of a series of death,” he added.
