Bhubaneswar: Five-wicket haul by Manoj Barik and a sparkling 99 by Shuvam Shatrujeet helped Sahid Sporting to beat host Town Club by 3 wickets in a high-scoring match of the Inter-Club Cricket Series here at Town Club ground in Old Town on Saturday.
Opting to bat first, Town Club rode on a half-century each by Bishal Kar and Ashwin Mohapatra to put up a challenging total of 238 for 7 in 40 overs. Left-arm spinner Manoj Barik claimed 5 wickets for Sahid Sporting, conceding 19 runs.
Sahid Sporting reached the target in 38.2 overs, losing 7 wickets. Shatrujeet was instrumental in the chase though missing out on his century by a whisker. Shuva Sanket Dhal was most successful Town Club bowler taking 2 wickets.
Shatrujeet was adjudged man of the match and he received the prize from eminent athletic coach Nila Madhab Deo.
