Bhubaneswar: Arush Sharma did SAI International School proud by topping the Senior category of the ‘Let’s Debate: Agree to Disagree’ — one of the largest inter-school debate virtual competitions.
The Class X student beat off strong challenge from other candidates to stand first in the prestigious debate competition, conducted by The New Indian Express Group (Edex Live).
Another SAIoneer, Shaurya Swaraan of Class VIII, finished a creditable runner-up in the Junior category.
“It was a tough competition as students from all across the country participated and various topics were given at each level to qualify for the next stage,” said Arush.
“I am happy that I was able to sweep through all the rounds with a good score as debating opportunities offered in my school are a class apart and all tips shared in the class came very handy in attaining success. I am thankful to my school SAI International to have groomed me in the direction of my desire and ambition.”
The Senior category was judged by The New Indian Express’s Editorial Director Prabhu Chawla and author Anand Neelakanthan, while the Junior category was judged by senior editor Kaveree Bamzai and author Anuja Chandramouli.
