SAI Students Celebrate Odisha CM’s Birthday With Orphans

Bhubaneswar: Students of SAI International School here on Wednesday celebrated Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s birthday by spending time with the orphans of Ashraya, an organisation looking after the vulnerable children.

The students served the children lunch and interacted with them on varied topics. They also discussed the significance of education in one’s life.

According to a statement issued by the school, the students had a first-hand experience of life in an destitute home, food habits and everyday routine followed there.

“When I read their everyday menu on the board, I became upset. We make a great fuss if we don’t get food, and these small children are content with whatever is given. I have decided to spend my birthday here so that I can treat the children with goodies,” Jay Bihari Patnaik, a Class VIII student said.

Sharing his experience after visiting Ashraya, Akshat Sankriti, who is also a student of the same class said: “I must thank our Chief Minister for this wonderful yet selfless idea to celebrate his birthday by gifting smiles to the less privileged children. It is a great lesson for all of us to share our happiness with the deprived people so that our own happiness gets multiplied”.
