Mumbai: Salman Khan, one of Bollywood’s biggest superstars, delivered several hits and blockbusters which entered the Rs 100-crore club.
Salman’s superhit movies include ‘Sultan’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, and many more.
However, the actor’s biggest hit till date remains ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan,’ which collected 10 times more than its budget.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, before roping in Salman for ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, filmmaker Kabir Khan had offered the movie to Aamir Khan and Allu Arjun. Only after the duo turned down the offer did Salman bag the project.
Aamir apparently wanted certain changes in the script, but Kabir didn’t agree.
Allu also refused the film due to prior work commitments.
Salman was then approached, and the rest is history.
Based on an original story by screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ revolves around Pawan (played by Salman Khan), a devotee of Lord Hanuman, who finds a speech-impaired lost girl in Haryana. On learning that the girl hails from Pakistan, Salman sets out to reunite the girl with her Pakistani parents.
The film left the audience impressed and emotional, and it turned out to be one of Salman’s best films.
Made on a budget of ₹90 crore, the film earned ₹320.34 crore at the domestic box office and ₹922 crore worldwide (which is 10 times more than its budget).
‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ collected ₹588 crore worldwide against a budget of ₹210 crore, ‘Sultan’ grossed ₹607 crore worldwide against a budget of ₹80 crore, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’, with a budget of ₹60 crore, earned ₹405 crore.
Salman will next be seen in ‘Sikandar,’ which co-stars Rashmika Mandanna.
The film is set to hit theatres on Eid 2025.
