Berhampur: They say as the going gets tough, the tough get going.

The deadly COVID-19 pandemic has brought the best out of many unsung heroes, like Tehsildar of Digapahandi Aditya Swain.

The Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer had to undergo surgery after being diagnosed with colorectal cancer six months ago. He was administered chemotherapy and was advised rest to recover fully.

But he ignored the pain and chose to answer the call of duty during the critical lockdown period.

Collector and District Magistrate of Ganjam, Vijay Amruta Kulange, has acknowledged Swain’s enviable efforts defying his personal health problems.

Kulange has heaped praise on Swain through his official Twitter handle, describing him as a ‘COVID Warrior’.

Swain has been toiling hard day in and day out, joining hands with the local administration to ensure the safety of people in Digapahandi.

Cancer patient Swain’s effort is all the more praiseworthy because medical experts are unanimous in the opinion that people with existing medical history and weak immunity are more prone to coronavirus.
