Chennai: After celebrating the success of ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ and announcing a break from films to embrace motherhood, Samantha Ruth Prabhu has sparked excitement among fans by teasing her return to Tamil cinema.
The buzz was set off after OTT platform Sony LIV hinted at an upcoming collaboration with the actor, leaving fans eager to know what she has in store.
“Hello everyone! We’ve been working on something special and can’t wait to share the details with you (heart emoji) Coming soon!!! #SonyTamil @samantharuthprabhuoffl @sonyliv.tamil,” the platform wrote.
Sharing it on their Instagram Stories, they tagged Samantha and wrote, “We cannot contain our excitement.”
Re-sharing the post, Samantha wrote, “Looking forward,” along with a white heart emoji.
Thrilled fans took to social media to share their excitement.
One wrote, “We are looking forward to see Samantha.”
Another commented, “Welcome again in tamil movies samantha.”
It’s not clear whether the upcoming Sony LIV project is a film or a web series.
Speculation is rife that Samantha could be returning as a host with a new talk show, years after Sam Jam on Aha.
During the promotions of ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ in Chennai recently, Samantha admitted that she regrets not doing more Tamil films over the years.
“I always regret not doing more Tamil films; that regret will always be there with me,” she said.
Samantha married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru, one half of the director duo Raj & DK, in December 2025.
Last month, the couple announced they are expecting their first child.
Talking to the press during ‘Maa Inti Bangaaram’ promotions, Samnatha said, “After Maa Inti Bangaaram, I will have to take a small gap, given my condition. I’ll have to take maternity leave. After that, I’ll be back with another film for my fans.”
