Hyderabad: Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s former husband and Telugu actor Naga Chaitanya got engaged to fellow-artiste Sobhita Dhulipala on Thursday.
Chaitanya’s father, superstar Nagarjuna, shared the news of the engagement along with some photos on X.
“We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 am!! We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless!” Nagarjuna wrote before adding – “8.8.8 A beginning of infinite love.”
The couple got engaged in an intimate ceremony in the presence of family members and close friends at the actor’s Hyderabad home.
Chaitanya, who starred in Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ two years ago and ‘Custody’ in 2023, has been in a relationship with Sobhita for about two years, but they hadn’t publicly acknowledged their relationship. Chaitanya split with Samantha in October 2021 after being married for nearly five years.
Sobhita starred in Mani Ratnam-directed ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ 1 and 2, made her presence felt in the web series ‘Made In Heaven’ and ‘Night Manager’
The couple is expected to get married later this year.
