Hyderabad: A general coach of Nanded-Sambalpur Nagavali Express derailed at Venkata Lakshmi Theatre junction near Vizianagaram railway station in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday.
The incident took place at 11.40 am as the train was moving towards Bobbili. All passengers are reported to be safe, according to the East Coast Railway.

Railway personnel acted promptly and detached the derailed coach. The train resumed its journey at 12:47 pm without further disruption. The cause of the derailment is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway, sources said.
This comes three days after eleven coaches of the SMVT Bengaluru-Kamakhya AC Express derailed at Nirgundi near Manguli in Cuttack district, killing one passenger and injuring three.
Two among the injured passengers are still undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital with one admitted to the new medicine ward’s ICU. Both the injured- Asish Lama (30) and Tammanappa Didapal (42) – are from Assam.
Lama is said to be in a critical condition because of a pre-existing liver disease. The condition of the second patient is stable, the TOI reported quoting authorities.
A total compensation of Rs 8.5 lakh has been paid, including Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased, Suvankar Roy (23) of West Bengal’s Alipur area, Rs 2.5 lakh to a grievously injured woman and Rs 50,000 each to two other injured.
The Commission of Railway Safety (CRS) is conducting a detailed inquiry into the derailment, which is suspected to have taken place due to track-related issues.
