Sambalpur’s GM University Moves To Better Job Prospects For Students

Sambalpur: The city-based Gangadhar Meher University (GMU) has set up a career counselling cum placement cell to guide students and help them in getting employment.

The cell will start functioning from Monday.

GMU Deputy Registrar UC Pati informed that the state government had sanctioned Rs 18 lakh for the career counselling centre. “Many talented students don’t know how to go about preparing themselves for jobs. The main responsibility of the placement cell will be to counsel, motivate, train and prepare students for interviews,” he said.

Pati added that the cell will organise programmes for personality development, mock aptitude tests, group discussion training and mock interviews. It will also organise workshops and meets with major companies and leaders of the corporate world for the students, The Times of India reported.
