Mumbai: Senior actor Sanjay Dutt is well known in the film industry for his warm personality.
Despite being a star kid, Sunil Dutt and Nargis’ son had his share of ups and downs in the industry.
Years ago, in an interview with Cineblitz, Sanjay had shared how he warned the Miss World Aishwarya Rai not to step into the film industry.
Recollecting the time when he first met Aishwarya during the photoshoot for a magazine, Dutt said, “I asked ‘who’s that beautiful woman’?”
He revealed that he had warned Aishwarya to stick to her modelling career as the film industry will take away her beautiful side.
Sanjay was an established actor by then and Aishwarya had just started her modelling career after winning the Miss World title in 1994.
“When you come into this glamour industry, it starts changing you, maturing you, that innocence is lost. That beautiful side she has right now on her face will disappear. Because she has to handle the film world right, and that is not easy to do,” Sanju baba said.
Talking about the film industry, he said: “It’s competitive. It’s like, ‘Man, I have to look better than that, I’ve gotta be there.’ You climb two steps and 500 people will pull you down five steps. And you become hard, losing those beautiful qualities. There are so many things you’ve got to handle that I suppose it does harden you.”
“It’s too professional, there are no feelings existing in this industry. You’ve gotta be prepared that if you’re not doing well, nobody’s there for you. And if you are, you’ll have everyone around you. When they’re all there, it’s handled differently. But when you’re alone, it’s sad to accept the fact that they don’t want you anymore,” he added.
Sanjay and Aishwarya worked together in ‘Shabd’ and ‘Hum Kisi Se Kum Nahin’.
Aishwarya, who is married to Abhishek Bachchan, shares a very close bond with Sanjay.
