Sarpanchs In Training Mode To Transform Villages In Odisha
Dhenkanal: Politicians pursuing studies after winning elections is not a new phenomenon in Odisha, but the zeal of village sarpanchs to train themselves to transform their area into a “model village” sounds inspiring.
A total of 52 sarpanchs from 30 panchayats of Dhenkanal Sadar block and 22 panchayats of Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal district are now undergoing training to ensure speedy development in their respective areas. Two experienced trainers are imparting training to them on different aspects of development activities.
According to sources, the training programme has been launched under the aegis of the State Rural Development Panchayati Raj Institute and District Council. Several developmental works devised under the 5T blueprint plan such as Rural Park, Kalyan Mandap and model pond would be set up in the villages. The sarpanchs are being trained to ensure expeditious implementation of these projects.
On completion of the training programme, the participants will prepare proper road maps for undertaking a number of activities in their respective areas. The aim is to transform these into model villages, sources added.
