Bhubaneswar: Sattvik Council of India (SCI), one of the leading vegetarian food and lifestyle standard development organisations will start its operations in Odisha soon.
“Our organisation is growing and many big brands are approaching for Sattvik certification. Therefore, we are opening branches where there is an increasing demand. Bhubaneswar is the first city in Odisha where we will set our foot,” said SCI founder Abhishek Biswas.
Satyanarayan Mohapatra, who has been appointed as the state representative of SCI, Odisha, said, “The SCI, which ensures creation of vegetarian environment for the consumers around the world, is a revolutionary initiative. With the requirement for new SOPs and standards in food supply chain, Sattvik mark guarantees vegetarian products.”
The SCI has developed SOPs in the field of food and hospitality. It has developed the manuals “Sattvik Quality Management Manual”, “Vegetarian Quality Kitchen Management Manual” and “Vegetarian Hospitality Management Manual”.
It targets to generate 1,000,00 certified skilled resources in India by 2025 and around 1 million establishments by 2025. Recently, the SCI in association with its Global Audit Partner, ‘Bureau Veritas’, provided ‘vegetarian certification’ to ‘Shri Ramayan Yatra’ at Safdarjung Railway Station in New Delhi.
France-based Bureau Veritas is world leader in inspection, testing and certification.
