Bhubaneswar: Captured IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman has become the human face of war. Military action on the LoC that led up to his capture on Wednesday morning and the subsequent videos of his arrest there have sparked anti-war sentiments on both sides of the border.
Social media is drumming #BringBackAbhinandan & #Abhinandan with celebs and even people in Pakistan asking their government to return the pilot back and call an end to the conflict.
Here are a few tweets that echoed everywhere:
Thank you! ?? Only sane citizen voices can compel their governments to find some sense in these insane times. #SayNoToWar https://t.co/PAInoBN0F8

Someone put up photos of dead soldiers’ mothers from both countries:
I can’t even see these 2 pics (mother of soldiers of India & Pakistan).
Don’t know how much pics we will see if there is war.#SayYesToPeace #SayNoToWar pic.twitter.com/9rxF5dG8bw— Dhawal Odedra (@Dhawal_Odedra) February 27, 2019

And a user from the valley tweeted, “India: It was our turn. Pakistan: Now it is our turn. Kashmiris: Only waiting to see whose turn turns us down.”
