New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The Pari murder case took a major turn on Wednesday as Supreme Court issued a notice to CBI and Odisha government and the SIT of Odisha Crime Branch sought permission from Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) for Layered Voice Analysis (LVA) test of the juvenile accused.
Accepting a petition filed by Soudamini Sahoo, the mother of Pari, seeking a CBI probe into the death case, a single-judge bench comprising Justice AM Khanwilkar heard the petition and issued notices to CBI and the Odisha government.
In her writ petition to the apex court of the country, Soudamini stated that as the murder case raised questions on the role of local police, the case must be investigated by CBI.
Senior Advocates Mahesh Jethmalani and Ravi Sharma argued the case on behalf of Soudamini in the court.
Meanwhile, the SIT appealed to the JJB to conduct Layered Voice Analysis (LVA) test after the Board rejected the petitions for narco-analysis test and brain mapping test of the juvenile accused. The board has posted the matter for hearing to January 20.
