New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to Odisha, Telangana, Delhi and West Bengal after hearing a petition claiming non-implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana in these states, the ANI reported.
These four states have been asked to submit their reply in four weeks.
One P Shekhar Rao filed a writ petition over the matter in the apex court.
In January, the Odisha government, which had already implemented its own Biju Swaysthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) much before the Centre launched Ayushman Bharat, had sought two changes in the provisions of the scheme before implementing it in the state.
The state had asked the Centre not make Aadhaar card mandatory for getting treatment under its scheme and raise the number of beneficiaries from 62 lakh to 70 lakh.
