Berhampur: One person drowned while two others were rescued while bathing in sea in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Monday.
According to sources, three friends had gone to the ongoing Bali Jatra at Bateswar Mahadev shrine on sea beach near Kantiagarh under Ganjam block in the district on the day. After going around the fair, they went to the sea to take bath in the afternoon.
While the three friends were bathing, a high tide pulled them deep inside the water. As they started drowning and shouted for help, the locals rushed to save them. After much difficulty due to the tide, they rescued the three persons in unconscious condition and brought them to the shore.
