School Topper Killed Ahead Of Matric Results In Odisha’s Kendrapada

Kendrapada: Rudra Narayan Behuria of Kendrapada district will never know that he was the school topper in the Matric exams this year.

Rudra, who hailed from Parimukundapur in Rajkanika block, was killed just three days before the results were declared on July 29.

According to his family, Rudra was devoured by a crocodile while he was bathing in a nearby river with his friends. His severed body parts were recovered a few hours later.

Even as the family went into mourning, news of the results added to their sense of loss.

“Like all his friends, Rudra was eagerly waiting for the Matric results. But little did he know he won’t survive to see the day,” said the boy’s devastated father. “He was a bright student and aspired to go to a reputed college in a nearby town for further studies. All is lost now,” he added.
